The great and wonderful William F. Buckley has passed away.

His influence was great as the only source of conservative programming during the 1980's.

Prior to Rush the only outlet for conservatives in the media was Buckley's Firing Line show on PBS - the longest running show in television history.

In his typically laid back style Buckley challenged the kudos of the day and was a welcome relief to the daily tirades against Ronald Reagan in the daily press.

There was simply no other outlet for true discussion of the issues and the format Buckley mastered was one which could surface the intellectual arguments behind the issues of the day.

Thanks to Mr. Buckley and all those at National Review who continue his legacy.
